Pamela

Pamela is an architect with a Masters degree & a PhD in Urbanism. She is passionate about Barcelona, history, art and travelling. She has been backpacking around the world for the past 10 years and has swam with sharks & pigs (yes pigs!!!) in the Caribbean Sea, fished for piranhas in the Amazon river, rode a bicycle through Vietnamese villages, snorkelled in open seas in Thailand, got spiritual in Varanasi, entered into the pyramids in Gizah, bathed in the glistening waters of Montego Bay, and got lost in the Lacandon Jungle, just to name a few of the over 40 countries she has visited to date. She is currently doing a postdoc in the Technical School of Superior Architecture of Barcelona (ETSAB), the same school where Antoni Gaudí got his degree in Architecture! She loves walking around Barcelona, because she believes the city itself is alive and willing to tell its story to whoever listens to it. Txus

Born in a small city really close to Barcelona, she moved to the capital ten years ago and now cannot leave this city which has given her more than she could ever have imagined; she discovered her true vocation here. When she was a child she read a book about a minstrel who was travelling during the Middle Ages, from one village to the next, explaining his histories. She always thought it must be a nice job, but maybe it wouldn't be a job you could do nowadays. After finishing her degree in Architecture, she started to do something she's always wanted to try: the construction of histories. She opened a blog, but just some of her friends were reading the stories. Till someone proposed her to memorise one of the histories and tell it in a bar. Since that moment, she never stopped doing that. And after a while, she thought she could mix her double vocation, the architecture and the storytelling. And now you can join her as she travels through the city explaining the stories its buildings, history, heritage & culture, just like a real minstrel.
